Coconut Snowballs … One Recipe … 4 Ways …

I love a recipe that’s versatile … a recipe where you can take the basic ingredients and create more than one version of it. This is such a recipe … Coconut Snowballs. Make the basic recipe and dip the balls in white chocolate, take the same recipe and roll the balls in coconut and finally, to create an adult version, add some glace cherries to the original mixture (not all kids will like glace cherries) and then roll in either white chocolate or coconut. Toblerone Dip …

About 4 months ago, I shared a photo on Instagram of a beautiful platter of fruit I had prepared and taken to a barbecue when I had been asked to bring a plate. I mentioned at the time that it was a fantastic alternative to a plate of nibblies as it looked great, tasted great and was so healthy. Below is the original photo I shared.     At the time, one of my lovely readers suggested that a bowl of Toblerone Dip would be the perfect addition to my fruit platter. Well, I finally got around to making it and I have to say, it’s divine. It requires only 2 … read more

Rum Balls … the Ideal Gift for Teachers …

October is on it’s way to being over and before we know it, the kids will be on holidays once again … time certainly flies! So today I thought I’d share my Rum Ball recipe because I often whip up a couple of batches and the kids present them to their teachers at the end of the term, just a little gift to say thank you for a great year. What I usually do is buy a stack of Christmas mugs, bowls and dishes at the Boxing Day sales where you’ll pay as little as 50 cents for these things. Hazelnut and Orange Bliss Balls …

You will have guessed by now that I love creating Bliss Balls … little balls of yummy that are perfect for a quick snack.  These ones are particularly decadent and will have definite appeal for the adults (although my kids love them too).  I’ve moved away from the almond meal with this recipe and substituted it with hazelnut meal.  The texture of the two is very similar but the hazelnut meal has a lovely “Nutella” flavour that is beautifully complemented with the sweetness of both the orange juice and orange zest.  These would actually be great served with coffee … read more

Chocolate Raspberry Muffins …

Okay, so a muffin isn’t necessarily going to be the healthiest snack out there but this recipe is definitely an improvement on one of my old favourites.  I’ve added apple puree, which reduces the quantity of butter used and I also used low fat or skim milk, which I do in most of my recipes.  These two things add up to less saturated fat and also fewer calories (or kilojoules).  Try these little gems and see what you think.  My verdict … yum!!   Chocolate Raspberry Muffins ...   Print Author: Mrs Organised Ingredients ... 1 ¾ cups plain flour (I … read more
